Earlier, the Russian ruble fell below 100 per dollar for the first time since last March.
Russian President Vladimir Putin’s economic adviser said Russia intends to strengthen the ruble and said loose monetary policy was the main reason for the ruble’s weakness.
According to the economic adviser, the ruble’s exchange rate has deviated significantly from the basic level and is expected to normalize in the near future.
A stronger ruble is in the interests of the Russian economy.
