According to CME’s “FedWatch,” the probability of the Federal Reserve maintaining interest rates at 5.25%-5.50% in September is 88.5%. The likelihood of a 25-basis point increase to the 5.50%-5.75% range is 11.5%.
Looking ahead to November, the likelihood of unchanged rates is 36.5%, while the cumulative probability of a 25-basis point hike stands at 56.7%. The chances of a cumulative 50-basis point increase are 6.8%.
