At present, the pegs include the Escudo of the Republic of Cape Verde, the convertible mark of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Bulgarian Lev, the French overseas franc, the Central African Franc, the West African franc, the Comorian franc and the Lithuanian lita.
The euro is the official currency of 16 countries and territories outside the European Union.
In addition, 22 countries and territories have their currencies directly pegged to the euro, including 14 West African countries, three French Pacific countries, two African island countries and three Borgen Peninsula countries.
