In a bid to bolster ties with African nations, the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) hosted a high-level delegation from the Bank of Tanzania (BOT), led by its Deputy Governor. The visit forms part of the joint cooperation program between the two central banks, aimed at fostering knowledge exchange in digital transformation, FinTech, and payment systems.
CBE Deputy Governor Rami Aboulnaga welcomed the Tanzanian delegation, reaffirming Egypt’s commitment to strengthening regional collaboration by sharing its pioneering experience in digital banking services. He emphasized the technological advancements that have significantly improved financial transactions and accessibility for citizens.
During the visit, the delegation received detailed briefings on CBE’s efforts to align with global trends in digital transformation, including FinTech, electronic payments, cybersecurity, and data science. Additionally, they explored CBE’s strategic approach to regulatory frameworks, corporate governance, and human resources management.
The visit highlights the strong and historic ties between the CBE and African central banks, particularly the BOT.
