Australia’s new plastic notes, after nearly 30 years of development before being put into use, it is a polyester material instead of paper, wear-resistant, not easy to break, not afraid of kneading and washing, long service cycle and feel strong, with good anti-counterfeiting characteristics.
Since the world’s first commemorative plastic note was issued in 1988, Australia has seen the advantages of plastic banknotes and has begun to switch from paper to plastic banknotes.
Since 1992, Australia has replaced its current banknotes with one plastic note every year. By 1996, all plastic banknotes were issued, making Australia the first country in the world to have a complete set of plastic banknotes.
