4. Compared with the last set, this set of RMB has two new denominations, 50 yuan and 100 yuan respectively.
5. The RMB in use now belongs to the fifth set of RMB.
On October 1, 1999, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, the People’s Bank of China successively issued the fifth set of RMB (1999 version).
The fifth set of RMB has 8 denominations of 1 jiao, 5 jiao, 1 yuan, 5 yuan, 10 yuan, 20 yuan, 50 yuan and 100 yuan, among which 1 yuan has 2 kinds of paper money and coin.
In addition, in addition to the 5 yuan and 100 yuan set, a new version has been issued.
The new 100-yuan version was first issued in 2015 and the new 5-yuan version was released in 2020.
