On January 28, Alexander Danilov, head of the Banking Supervision and Analysis Department of the Central Bank of Russia, said that the total profit of banks this year may exceed one trillion rubles. “Barring absolutely unforeseen new shocks, the outcome will be much better than in 2022,” he said.
At the end of last year, Russian banks earned a total profit of 203 billion rubles. The record number will come in 2021, when financial institutions make 2.4 trillion profits.
